I thought O’Keefe was a little harsh on Wales through the half. The ko was flagged by the TMO as well and should have been yellow.

And some quality defence from the lineout after the clock up from the restart. Touch missed is annoying

They do, but Wales have given away stacks of avoidable penalties

Really good first 50 odd minutes from Rowlands, then a yellow card and now he is crocked. Patched up Wales side for the last 10

Scruffier than it needed to be, but a good win.

Thought Argentina were a bit flat, 6 day turnaround including a day travelling after last week might have something to do with it. Wales the better side though for most of the match, forwards played well and regained a bit of pride. Lots of good performances, Jac Morgan went really well.

Downsides are injuries to Lydiate and Rowlands, and a bunch of avoidable penalties conceded

A win is a win but it was a bit of a dog’s breakfast. Still Pivac and Co will be relieved. Faletau was immense, North and Tomas Williams showed well. Starting front row stood up to be counted most of the time. Pivac is blooding youngsters and they mostly showed up well.

Job done but still lots of room for improvement.

Argentina just don't have that history against us - they don't scare us.

Defence was excellent. Carrying was unusually good. And we showed invention in attack, it wasn't totally predictable as usual. LRZ was excellent - have we found our full back for the RWC? Great games from Owens, Tips, Faletau, Williams, North, Morgan. Rowlands would have been in that list but for the yellow. There was nothing between Anscombe and Priestland.

It would have been nice (and deserved) to have gotten some points for the first 5 minutes of brilliance, but hey, we got the points in the end somehow.

Better.

We won and there were some immense performances, plus a good outing by LRZ at full back which is a good omen for the future. Defence was much better and so too was attitude. Plus we had some genuine spells of decent attack.

But,

Set piece was iffy at times.
When we got into the red zone it seemed to be all about big men trying to bash their way over. We seemed to lose a bit of composure.
Discipline was not good, even if the ref was a bit harsh.

But something to build on and if there are minimal changes next week as Privac suggests then we should be well set for Australia.

Happier. Better carrying, better defence, more energy and commitment all round. Attack remains a bit shapeless and uncertain.
Gerald Davies, what was he doing there?!

Solid performance. LRZ surprised me at 15, but not sure I saw much kicking and defensively from him (may have missed it though). Definitely a great counter attacking option and worth sticking with.

Anscombe and Priestland - This all we got. Kicking from Anscombe was uninspiring. With all the players outside hime, would like to see some more ball going wide.

But fronted up and matched them up front, but was disappointed with Argentina. Expected more.

Bad discipline kept Argentina in the game, better sides would have put that away when 20-6 up

Interesting additions. I like Davies as a grafting type of second row. Gave away a lot of penalties when he was first picked for the Ospreys but he’s pretty good now. He’s started carrying more often, too. Think he is listed as 6”6 on the Ospreys site, and WoL often describe him as a 6”7 ‘giant’, but he often looks a little shorter than the opposition second rows. He’s earned his call up in my view though, and wouldn’t be a bad option for the 23 against a physical side like Georgia.

I suspect that Jenkins is cover as he has to be released for the Australia game. Seriously good prospect though, and he captained Exeter last weekend, and he’s still 19. There was an article on him in the WoL last week. He must be taller than Rhys Davies as he was described as a ‘colossus’. Not sure how they would describe Skelton or Vaahaamahina if they ever played in Wales !

Would have hoped that Morgan Jones would have been an outside squad option for Wales by now but he isn’t getting much game time at all at the Scarlets. He’s probably Peel’s fifth choice if you count Lousi and Fifita as second rows. I like Jones, big bloke and pretty mobile, also has a bit of dog about him. Hopefully he will get his chance.

I was expecting Rhys Davies to be called in, I'd reallt like to see Jenkins to see what the fuss is about, I haven't seen him play at all yet.

Yes, I know Jenkins has had some game time at Exeter, and is well regarded there as a prospect, but it would be good to see more of him. I assume he'll play some part on Saturday as he wouldn't be available for the Australia game, and seems a bit of a waste getting him in just for a week of training sessions.

Wales team to face Georgia: Rees-Zammit; Cuthbert, North, Watkin, Adams; Priestland, T Williams; G Thomas, Owens, D Lewis, Carter, Beard, J Morgan, Tipuric (capt), J Macleod.

Replacements: B Roberts, R Jones, S Wainwright, D Jenkins, Faletau, Blacker, Costelow, Halfpenny.

Interesting to see how MacLeod goes at 8, lots of jackalling options in that backrow.

Halfpenny back on the bench. But it's only Tuesday so given the luck he's had anything could happen before Saturday.
Lot of new faces on the bench too.
