Some dubious refereeing calls there but we deserved to lose that.
Fucking dreadful.

Big question mark against Pivac and his team now. The result is on a par with Italy in the 6N.

Performance was worse than the Italy match. That was a last minute sucker punch when we were obsessed with the bonus point. This was a straight beating. No excuses.

When will Wales management learn to put out the strongest side possible?

Anyone want to start a pool for how much longer Pivac has left? He'd be getting the Gareth Jenkins treatment if it were my decision

Re: Wales v Georgia
Problem is that was a strong Welsh team. A few players out injured who would make a difference but it was hardly a second XV. And in the second half we were battered by a team with a more limited game plan but who executed it very well.
We made too many mistakes and gave the ball up too easily. We looked like we didn’t have any kind of plan in the last 20. A bit like we knew that we needed to move the Georgian pack about but didn’t feel confident doing so.

Re: Wales v Georgia
So many mistakes. After the second try we simply couldn't build anything without making some error. High ball? Jesus, we were missing Sanjay. LRZ fluffed most of them, Cuthbert didn't realise that hoofing in the general direction of the ball isn't enough, you actually have to try to get up for it. At least Halfpenny got one
.
The scrum that gave them the winning penalty was inexcusable. They have to be able to get the ball out quick from a creaking scrum.
Why Adams was taken off and Cuthbert left on after essentially losing us the match with that yellow I do not understand.
Really really poor.

If I were the WRU CEO I’d sack him now. Someone less annoyed might give him the Aussie game as redemption but realistically he can’t remain in ost for the six nations.
Except he probably will.

I’d also question why Lewis was brought off at 44 mins unless injured and why Costelow was brought on in such an edgy match. I’d have kept Priestlands experience on for a bit longer.Son of Mathonwy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:07 pm So many mistakes. Not that a fly half can do much without any ball

LRZ was exposed a bit today and for the RWC then surely Liam remains the first choice. Worth giving LRZ other opportunities as he has great potential

I'm generally positive about Pivac but having serious doubts now. Although I suspect it's too close to the WC to get a better one in.

He had some credit in the bank from beating SA in the summer but we've lost to Italy and Georgia in Cardiff and got demolished by the Kiwis. I'm not sure he's still in the blackSon of Mathonwy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:12 pmI'm generally positive about Pivac but having serious doubts now. From the way heads seemed to drop I don’t think players have any confidence in him. Any chance we have of being competitive at the REC or the six nations next year must be in serious doubt so it’s a case of twist or stick.Son of Mathonwy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:12 pmI'm generally positive about Pivac but having serious doubts now. Costelow was a throw of the dice at the end of the match - although I don't think it made any difference, either waySandydragon wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 3:09 pmI’d also question why Lewis was brought off at 44 mins unless injured and why Costelow was brought on in such an edgy match. We were a lot better in the first half but kicked the ball away from good attacking positions too many times. Far too wasteful. (Is Jones's job at risk?). This is the third match, we should be a well oiled machine at this point.
How on earth did we beat Argentina? How on earth will we beat Australia???

(Not that is really matters but....) Losing to Georgia will demolish our ranking points.

I'm trying to think of a worse Welsh result than this. You have to really go back to the 2007 RWC loss to Fiji, or the 62-5 loss to England in the warm up match that year. The only mitigation is that it was a one point loss. But we should never lose to Georgia.
