Bernie was a sheepdog after all.

For a while there I thought he might be the real deal.

Bernie Sanders Endorses Hillary Clinton, Candidate of Wall Street and Corporate Power
by DAVE LINDORFF

Bernie Sanders threw in the towel today in his epic campaign to win the Democratic Party’s nomination for president, standing on a stage in Portsmouth, New Hampshire beside the woman he had spent the whole primary season denouncing as a tool of the corporate elite and especially of the Wall Street banking cabal, and saying he endorsed her as the party’s candidate for president of the United States.

The event marked the sad, if widely predicted, end to what for a brief time had electrified millions of young and working class voters: a major party candidate for president openly calling himself a socialist, proudly harking back to his days as a radical civil rights activist instead of trying to hide his past and his arrest record, and unabashedly condemning the greed, corruption and lust for power of the nation’s ruling elite.

As for the maths. There are mathematic 'theories' on both sides, they are not the same as mathematical facts. I asked for maths.

Somewhat inevitable it seems and then the almost now tradition of backing your opponent for the next one against the other party.

It's a shame as Bernie was a bit of a breath of fresh air in the usual monumental guff fest that is the US election jamboree.

Clinton vs Trump = the people lose

It's hard to imagine a worse prospect for the world than La Clinton.

Bernie can now join the John Kerry club of people who've actually won an election but conceded defeat.

I guess with the stakes being played for, any threats are credible.

But not a surprise. Unless there is solid evidence that Bernie had actually won overall, and by solid I mean good enough to take to a court, then what else is he going to do? Clinton vs Trump, would Bernie really support Trump?

Why would he "need" to support either?

perhaps he considers Trump to the the worst option and if he doesn't support Clinton then his supporters may not bother to vote and hand the election to the Republicans. Maybe he sees that as a least worse option.

Jill Stein did a great interview, I couldn't find the snippet but she highlighted how this has happened before with a number of movements, they get amalgamated and swallowed into the DNC to never be heard of again. Obama campaigned on change, tough on banks, and peace - he turned out to be a lackey for Wall Street, has scaled up pretty much every war he's been involved in and produced more nukes than any POTUS since the missile crisis, and not much has really changed at all.

Such a shame. The wheels keep spinning.

Change will not be tolerated. A complete fucking let down. Nothing will progress in the face of this relentless two-party personality campaign obscuring the need for someone to make people understand that full employment should be the primary goal of a government and that policies should be built around that.

Welcome to the modern world.
It looks like we will not even get the chance to vote for our mandated opposition candidates,........because probity in government is such a terrifying proposition.

Not surprised, I can't believe you are. While a handful may have their hearts in the right place, somebody does the Jedi mind trick on them and they become drones. Disappointing.
It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.

I'm not surprised. I'm disappointed and disgusted.

For a while there (not at the beginning mind you) I though the might be real.

I doubt that many Bernie supporters will vote for La Clinton though.

She is diametrically opposite everything he campaigned on and received support for.

But for now he can go and eff himself.

Hmmmm, well the right always struggles to understand the motivation of the genuine left. As a consequence they come off as insulting and condescending when they try to comment.

And then usually get upset when they strike a lefty that won't back down to their condescending tone and ill-conceived judgements.

American colleges (specifically state funded colleges) tend to adhere to the mantra of "Submission to ideas" rather than "Permission to ideas", along with all the pushing of Trigger-Warnings, Safe-Space (safe area) etc. etc...list goes on... Pussyfying students to the point where they become offended or fearful of things they WILL eventually experience in the real world. They should be encouraging them to debate ideas and develop their own critical thinking skills so they are able to think for themselves, and cope with life without being offended at every twist and turn. You cannot wander through life with a helmet on, and a pillow under your rear end.

Am I making any sense because I had 2 glasses of wine with dinner... lol

No.That's a crock of shyte. So they should be unable to think for themselves? Is that a typo? I'm not seeing the state Vs.private institution validation here. I've worked at both. If you think beating acceptance of inequality into young minds is a positive, then you need to get back in your time machine. Fuckin 'ell Coco.

WHAT?? read it again! Never did I say they should be unable to think for themselves, I said the opposite... They should be encouraging that very thing! Debating ideas and listening to eachother is key and with any luck might spark some empathy for struggles every student faces at that age. Beating acceptance of inequality into young minds is NOT positive and I am not sure where you think I said this?

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
