This is how I learned of my crumbling empire. I'm like Bristol - looking like I've got it in the bag before crumbling.

Many poor choices this week, not least of which was having the choice between Knight and Gonzalez to transfer in and make captain, and going for Knight on a hunch.

I'm having a real hard time picking centres that score well. Vakatawa did very well last round, but other than that its been consistently poor

Centre is always challenging in Fantasy Rugby TBH.

I always like to break down an aspirational but achievable score I aim to hit every week. In this game, the magic number is 200 points which works out as 12.5 per player.

It’s very hard to deconstruct that though. It pretty much dependent on picking a captain who will get 30+ points (when doubled) to counteract the likelihood that most players will score under 12.5. To get over that, they either need to score, kick a lot of goals or make a lot of metres.

The fact that players can only be picked in one position is annoying but I guess that’s somewhat balanced by having 4 transfers instead of 2.

One of my big bugbears is not being able to have a player who is kicker and captain. There are a couple of occasions I would have had Smith as skipper, but also had to have him as kicker so I was forced to choose.

Just looked at my squad. At best, I’m going to have 7 players!

I’m going to be missing LCD, Dan, Obano, Coles, Lamb (probably), Pearson, Dombrandt, Spencer, M. Smith, F. Smith, Lawrence, Slade, Freeman, Roebuck, Feyi-Waboso and Muir.

I planned that well …

Had my best round last week and I think my worst this week. It's going to be a tight table going in to the play offs! Hopefully we're allowed more changes for them

"Hmmm, I think Bath will do well this week with Northampton rotating and I have a spare transfer. Let's bring in a winger... Muir or Cokanasiga? Muir always does score well, but this does feel like the kind of flat track that flat track bully JoeC tends to do well on. Sod it, let's have Big Joe and make him captain as well. I'm sure I won't have any cause to regret that and he certainly won't drop the ball over the line on his way to a mere 5.5 fantasy points, while Muir goes on to score two long distance tries."

I chose Coka for their recent Newcastle game expecting great things and was similarly let down.

Captain Sleightholme has gone from a round 100 last week to 8 this week.

Not sure what happens with the play-offs.

TBH, I pretty much gave up on this game mid-season. I wasn’t doing well and none of the gambles I took to catch-up paid off.

Ooh, I know this one! Looked it up the other day - it's 8 transfers this week, and the team limit's now 8 from each team, then next week it's another 8 transfers and no team limit.

Mirroring the tight season, only 31 points separates the top 4 in the fantasy leader board.

Well done on the regular season win.

Are we doing what we did for the TRM game with our own play-offs?

Sounds fun.

AdamP vs Scrumhead
Whagwan vs Puja

for a place in the final.

Ooh the drama - good idea!

Will my intrinsic Saints bias be my downfall in the play offs? Can I bring myself to select a full quota of Saracens players so I either win in real life or win in fantasy?

I’ll have a similar problem. Less of a Saints bias but a definite anti-Saracens bias.

To be fair, having players that score well in fantasy is one of the only ways I have been able to stomach their successes.

Every fantasy league I've ever played my team has fallen apart when it narrows down at the play-offs so will be doing my best to break that run...

The unexpected lack of tries last night hasn't bee great for my heavily Saints stacked team. Capt Sleightholme wasn't profitable at all. Need my Bath boys to take up the slack today.

Don’t worry. I had a mediocre night too and as it stands you have a 5 point lead with 6 playing today. I only have 5.

We both have Obano, Redpath and Muir, so I have to hope Spencer (who I never actually intended to start) and Roebuck have better games than Ewels, Barbeary and du Toit.

Short version is, I think you have one foot in the final.
