Quite pleasing how the end of the season mirrored the real league - 1st and 2nd won their semi finals, and top of the table won the cup

Found it more of a challenge selecting a team within budget this year for some reason

Every year, I refuse to pick Ben Spencer because of how shit he's been for England, and every year, I end up having to swallow my pride and transfer him in. One of those Ramprakash players who excels at domestic without ever having the quality to go higher.

I am getting absolutely clumped this year. Every decision I make has been wrong so far, and I've been left with a squad today where I had to sacrifice points to make an extra transfer just to get a starting XV out. For reference, I spent that extra transfer on getting Ben Spencer in, instead of hoping Will Porter got points off the bench for Quins, so this weekend will see Spencer in a 5th minute concussion and Porter scoring a hat trick in a late cameo.

Literally *every* *decision*. My transfers this week: Do I bring in LCD? Do I pick MSmith or Russell? Let's transfer in Alex Coles, he's doing well! Shall I go for Ollie Sleightholme? Do I spend points because I don't have a starting scrum-half and I don't think Porter will get much off the bench for Quins? If I do, shall I go for Gus Warr? Tomos Williams?

I'm cursed.

I don’t feel much better. I strongly considered switching Smith in for Russell and then for some reason decided not to at the last minute. At least picking Sleightholme as captain was a good call. Llewellyn was a good pick up too, but I’ve got a 50:50 of good scores being negated by terrible ones

In my wisdom I decided not to captain Sleightholme, against my instincts. I also swapped JvP into my side at 9, who has somehow managed an incredibly low score given the humping Tigers gave Falcons.

Ben Spencer earned me 1 point in recompense for me spending 6 points on bringing him in. If I'd stuck with Porter, he'd've got me 7. I knew there was a reason I didn't like Spencer!

205 points has got me back in the game. Could have been a lot better if most of my players hadn’t got single digit scores but in fairness, I’d have only got 7 points more for starting Porter over James and Dun over Batley (who is usually very reliable). Also can’t really blame Coles for a poor score given he only lasted 11 minutes!

Another iffy week on the decision-making front - had the rare luxury of having 18 starting options before making any transfers, so got to pick players based on who I thought would do well and boy howdy did I do an average job of it! Transferred in Ollie Lawrence for 3 points, brought in Dan for a respectable 10 points until you realise that meant me benching the 23 point LCD, transferred out Freddie Thomas to make salary cap room because I was going to be starting the 3.5 points of Chunya Munga...

Still, I never claimed to be even a little bit perspicacious and thankfully it looks like most of you screwed up as well, cause I'm still in 4th!

ETA. Just looked at Adam_P's team - I had originally thought from your points that you'd forgotten to pick your team, but you had 15 starters and just appalling luck! Hendy as Captain, FSmith as kicker for a total of 4 points and 2 HIAs, going hard on Saracens players against Newcastle and Tizard repaying you with -5 points . Bad luck mate! At least you'll know next matchweek will be better!

Don't! I had an absolute mare this weekend, worst round since playing by far. It's going to take some unbelievable luck in the other direction to rectify.
