If you can stomach it, his recent press conference is something special.

A combination of the stupidity of the electorate and the stupidity of the Democratics.
An oldy, but a goody.

The very picture of hinged.
The baby's face says it all. In that reaction lies the only glimmer of hope for the USA.

I have a silver lining from Trump. The Hungarian government's cozying up to China has led to a fall off in relations with the US. And the consigliere of the governmental mafia, Antal Rogan, has been added to the black list by the US government :)

Definitely will see the fall of the Hungarian government next year, thank feck.

The new opposition are ahead in the polls, and gaining every week. Viktor is losing all friends, getting too close to China, and no one likes it

If there was no Fidesz, they'd be considered populists and we would be calling them bad names. But because of how bad Fidesz are, they're seen as the better option. They're basically a less corrupt Fidesz...which is better than the current government, but not exactly great.

He might be very good, as a typical conservative in a very conservative country.

A change would be good. But if Magyar is similar then he'll be tempted to use the same levers that Orban used to hold on to power. It's tentatively good that Magyar is campaigning against corruption . . . but didn't Trump do the same in 2016? Anyway, a change, even if it is to another populist would be better than more of Orban.

NB, the polling between Fidesz and TISZA looks neck and neck - I wouldn't count Orban out yet.

(I know this was a couple of days ago but...)

With Trump's zero-punishment unconditional discharge, the US proves that Presidents are above the law, even more widely than implied by their, recently acquired, immunity from prosecution for official acts. What is the point? He's a dictator for 4 years.

In a sane world Tesla's share price would tank. But in a sane America this guy would be nowhere near power.

Exactly. It's no accident. The voting is done. He's finally brave enough to show the world that he doesn't just have fascistic leanings, he actually is a fascist.

An exuberant expression of fascism.

Interesting times for Trump supporters who fancy themselves as being against antisemitism. I guess they'll brush it off after a second of cognitive dissonance. I see more cognitive dissonance in their future.

Wouldn't all those Virginia tech guys chanting the Jews will not replace us be trump supporters?

I'm trying to work out if Musk's admission of fascism is good or bad. I mean, obviously it's bad that he's a fascist (rather than merely a right wing dick), but given that he is, is it good or bad that he's revealed it to the world?

Positive:
It might cause a backlash, like people not buying Teslas, dropping X for good, ideally (if they had any sense) that's what the UK government should do, the world showing Musk that he is now toxic. This will happen to a degree but how much?
Negative:
Fascism becomes normalised (which is presumably Musk's intention), it gets explained away, laughed off, but is then easier to do again etc. We're already in a world where a genocide has taken place in plain sight but has been denied by most western nations.

I'm thinking, more likely on the negative side, but we shall see.
