Interesting times for Trump supporters who fancy themselves as being against antisemitism. I guess they'll brush it off after a second of cognitive dissonance. I see more cognitive dissonance in their future.
I don’t have the energy for this. It was not a serious suggestion.cashead wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 8:22 pmGiving a fascist doing the fash salute the benefit of the doubt is not a good look. Does this mean that anyone who identifies as male, is technically (but only in USA) trans-male now?Trump's Executive Order Against Trans People Technically Makes Every American Female
If you legislate with scientific words, you should know the science.
The text of the EO declares: “'Female' means a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell.” Linking sex and conception seems to bring anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ+ lingo together, but also demonstrates the lack of knowledge that at fertilization, and for many weeks after, every embryo is female. It's a point that people have been quick to raise online.
In the first few weeks after conception, all embryos look the same. We can call that state "unisex", but the basic blueprint is what we ascribe to female bodies – that’s why, for example, everyone has nipples and not just those people who might end up lactating (although everyone has the potential to do that).

One positive is that it makes life a bit harder for Farage and Badenoch to latch onto Musk's words, since they're the words of a fascist.
I'm seeing a lot, that it can't have been a nazi salute, because he touches his hand to his heart first, before throwing it out - it's obvious he's "giving his heart out" to the crowd - in a way that literally no-one has ever done before; and it's pure coincidence that it looks like a nazi salute (which IIRC, was in turn a variation of the Roman Salute).
The ADL, folks.cashead wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 8:23 am Meanwhile, the ADL bootlickers show their asses again.

"He did an awkward gesture." And that gesture was a fucking fascist salute, you fucking idiots. And or course, like the bootlicking cowards that they are, they've restricted comments. Pathetic.

I love the people who genuinely debate this, like there is any genuine difference. "He's not actually a Nazi; he just enjoys making people think he's a Nazi for the reactions it gets." Ummmm, great. Good job by him; I bought it completely.Which Tyler wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 11:55 amNow - is he a nazi, or "just" a wannabe edgelord, ally of nazis who enjoys mimicking nazis in order to troll his enemies? I've no idea. Neither speaks well of him, and neither means that his salute wasn't a variation of the Roman Salute.

His fanboys are fanboys in the same way they are fanboys of other far right talking heads: they say what they want to hear. This guy will never be listened to.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 7:47 am You can say obvious, but there are an awful lot of people with very different opinions about his beliefs and motivations. Never heard of this guy honestly, but thought it was sort of interesting.
I don’t know that there’s any real way to get through to his fanboys. There are lots of scientists and researchers calling him out to no avail, but maybe the voice of another billionaire tech bro, who had a personal relationship with him, might make a dent?
Provoking him in to blowing a gasket and making a big mistake is basically the only hope he gets recognised for what he is.
My feeling is it’s probably too late though. The country has been auctioned off and even if Trump voters realise that now it probably doesn’t matter.
It did feel very strange to actually open a Facebook link. I know logically there are still people that use, but it doesn’t seem right.
