Disappointing that Batley couldnt play. He's a big miss for Bristol and an England tour spot could be his if he can get some game time. Making 3 changes close to kick off and losing Dun - who is seriously under rated - didnt help their cause.

Three changes is a lot close to kick off. Were those guys even warming up before throwing in the towel, a gamble on some late fitness tests or was it a bit of a cheeky smokescreen from Pat Lam to disguise who was actually going to play? I doubt we'll know for us unless someone from the Bristol camp passes comment.

Did show JvP scoring one and creating another with some nice footwork and acceleration. Freddie Steward showing a stutter step to beat Benhard Janse van Rensburg which was a nice surprise, didn't know he had it in him. The Ravouvou offload from the tackle was outrageous. When things come off for Bristol it's sensational, when those things don't come off, less so.
Yeah. JvP seems to have his sniping game back which is great to see. I particularly enjoyed his alertness and acceleration for the Radwan try.

Have found some better highlights. Heyes should be anticipating the step and doesn't so gets caught too high on a dipping player. No intent but can't be any complaints with the yellow either. Kata is typical Kata, looking for the big hit but gets done by a bit of a step and is piling on at the wrong angle for the tackle. Yellow but only because of the Bristol player straightening. No coverage of the Montoya incident.

Did they review the Randall tackle on JvP just before JvP dived over? He was very upright in the tackle there, probably saved by his midget height.

Is nice to see some fluency to the Tigers attack. It's been there's in fits and starts this season. Hopefully some consistency for the run in is coming.

They did - I was crying yellow card live, but on slow-mo it was shoulder to shoulder and any head contact was minimal. More luck than judgement on Randall's part though.

Ta. I will actually watch the full game at some point this week. A 5ft8 scrum half really has no excuse for high tackles.

It's what's quoted on the internet. I presume they took the measurement whilst he was wearing his boots with the big studs.

Just seen the Montoya incident. Nothing in it. He's clearing the player out, who then steps back and Montoya loses his balance. Tries to complete the clearout anyway, doesn't drop he weight on the limb or try to twist the knee. Rugby incident.

Particularly if the Dun tackle on Cracknell was play on, that was no better than Kata's yet waved away.

Hard disagree. Dun is bent at the hips and making a legal tackle - it's Cracknell ducking his head into contact that causes the problem.

Cracknell braces for impact by lowering his shoulder, which Sun goes straight over the top of. Dun has a clear line of sight and ample opportunity to get properly low and cut Cracknell in half. Instead he aims high on the chest with no left arm wrap, barely wraps his right. He's gone looking for the big hit and isn't in control. Cracknell's movement is neither unusual nor particularly dynamic. As both go off there's a lot of force involved. Red mitigated down to yellow.
