Leicester very good I thought, particularly in defence. Sale's big guns never really fired.
Kidwell the defence coach has done a great job, originally on a short secondment from Japan but he's now apparently left the Japan setup so hopefully Tigers can keep him for a bit longer.
The forwards defence was excellent and similar to the Prem game the Tigers forwards won the physical battle. Unlike in the Prem game a few weeks back Tigers also managed to target Ford which turned the game as the Sale backs outside him (bar Roebuck) were awful. Having the third man out from the breakdown blitz Ford and then having men either side to stop his little delayed passes into runners really took away from the Sale momentum, the fact the delivery from Quirke in the first half was poor just put more pressure on Ford.
Reffell was everywhere early doors and allowing him to empty the tank keeping the Sale forwards under pressure and then replace him with Ilione really gave some fantastic bench impact. A fresh Ilione coming up with that breakdown steal as Sale were throwing the kitchen sink at Tigers was massive. Perese off the bench was another big impact sub, Volavola also looked good in his brief outing, for a side that's struggled for bench impact all season it's a nice change to have some.
Only concern is that Cracknell went off with some sort of arm/shoulder issue. We don't really have anyone else to deploy at 8 and offer the same physicality and ridiculous work rate he does.
