Scots Abroad VIII (or let's spot the new messiah) - The New Era

Post by BaldiePete »

Top 14 final this week. Kinghorn picked at 11 for Toulouse and Gray on the bench for Bordeaux-Begles. I presume that Kinghorn will be on a flight to Australia as soon as possible once it’s over.

Yeah assuming fitness he'll likely be straight off to Brisbane tomorrow.

Maybe an odd one to bring up, but I was a bit surprised to see Rufus McLean turning out for the USA vs England at the weekend.

If that domestic abuser cunt turns out for USA against us in November I look forward to booing every time he gets the ball.

I get the sentiment, but do we really want to live in a world where someone convicted of a crime can never move on, even once they have served their sentence.

No one has to like him, and I don't, but let's not turn it into some mob justice thing.

There’s definitely something funny about referring to booing someone as ‘mob justice’, but that’s a fair point.

That's also fair. "Mob justice" is too far. Ironically, I quite like a boo (or, at least I'm not precious about it), I just prefer pantomine booing or booing for sporting reasons rather than more serious ones.

Hodgson signed with Newcastle. Probably a good move. Still got potential, but not much space for him at Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Not the most flattering photo in the bbc article:

Mr Greig not done so good in Japan. Relegated to 2nd div previous season, lost nearly all games last season and only stayed in Div 2 after play off. Gatland to come in as head honcho. No idea what will happen to Laidlaw, but a big risk for Urayasu D-Rocks, appointing someone who could only get a gig in Uruguay :D

Cammy Hutchison starts for Saracens in the centre, he is there as injury cover for start of the season.

I picked it up from the Top 14 website where he is listed at 19 and as “2ème ligne”.

https://top14.lnr.fr/feuille-de-match/2 ... -racing-92

Mind you they don’t have his photograph and have listed him as British not Scottish so someone might not have a clue. I checked Ali Price and Jonny Gray. Price is shown as Scottish but Gray is British

Definitely listed by Perpignon on their website a troisieme ligne. Shirt number 19 is the norm for a back row replacement in a 5/3 split. Perpignon have a lock, Tanguy, on the bench and 2 back rows in a 6/2 split

Love these updates BTW

Ritchie played the second half, replacing the starting openside. Perpignan lost 28-15.

Also noteworthy is that Toulouse lost 44-14 to Montpellier :o Price played 72 minutes and Masibaka came on for Vunipola after 37 minutes.

Love these updates BTW
Thanks :)
