Re: 3rd Test
3 interventions from Farrell so far
1 hospital pass for Aki to carry into 3 defenders who'd all read it
1 hospital pass having stolen all the time and space from the outside runners
1 pop pass to absolutely nobody

6-2 bench should get found out like this more often. lions just hobbled in attack.

This is such a perfectly predictable shambles. Oddly, I’ve quite enjoyed it though.

Thank goodness all the other "world class" Lions players arent making any mistakes and are playing superbly.Which Tyler wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 1:07 pm 3 interventions from Farrell so far

Aussies wanted it more today. With the benefit of hindsight Farrell should have brought in more dirt trackers for this test. Players with a point to prove.

If that's a pen, then you take Suali'i out of the equation, and penalty try?

Lol. How can you be focused on that? Lions thoroughly beaten. What a strange game though.Which Tyler wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 1:37 pm OK, well, erm...

Pleased for Aus to be honest. You just have to admire the shithousery.
Looking like pretty poor judgement from Andy Farrell I’m afraid to say.

Lions were dogshit. Didn't do as brilliantly as billed in any test! Despite everyone saying how poor Australia were!

Re: 3rd Test
Shit game for the lions, but after the media convincing themselves that this was going to be a walkover it was good to see the Aussies prove them wrong, and demonstrate that tests in Australia are still worth having.
A clear win for each side and a contentious win for the lions.

Farrell very lucky that schmidt didn't bother to prepare. For the first test.

Focussed? I was commenting on what was happening at the time, not summarising the game as a whole

Wrong word maybe. Just seemed funny to be arguing any sort of decision in a game that was so far gone, and felt like it should have had about 35 yellows already.Which Tyler wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 2:08 pmFocussed? Re: 3rd Test
Outplayed and outcoached and outselected.
We were second best everywhere- lineout a shambles all match and scrum a shambles til Porter went. Failed to react to plays off 9 for the second game. The bench selection was chickens coming home to roost, with Farrell stinking the place up, and ditto Aki tbh. Unlucky with Itoje and Ryan going off and then an even bigger gap in physicality.
Pretty depressing tbh.

I didn't know I was arguing anything at all.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 2:18 pm Wrong word maybe. Just seemed funny to be arguing any sort of decision in a game that was so far gone, and felt like it should have had about 35 yellows already.
I typed a dozen words on a decision that was being made in real time - it's... kinda what's done on match threads.
It's not suggesting that it's the only thing that happened in the game, or that Aus weren't well deserved, and comfortable winners, or even arguing that the decision was wrong.
My live comment just seems like a weird thing to focus on

That'll teach me to watch live. Well played, Aus.
Really wish Curry had come up from one of the rocks with White's moustache to go with the blood.
Shoulda rolled the dice Gaz SR. We all told you

Re: 3rd Test
Too many older and/or knackered players on parade today. The edge was missing from 10 or more of them.
From an English point of view, I am pleased that a high percentage were Irish.
Itoje will recover from the tour - he always does. It may have finished Curry. Freeman looked in a bad way. Daly suffered a break. Genge has looked really sharp.
Roll on the AIs.

Re: 3rd Test
Genge and Stuart have gained a lot from this tour imo. George might have had another lions cap or two, Kelleher didn’t seem to offer much. Itoje was grand, and clearly missed. Curry was very good, Earl meh tho nice runs today, Pollock will have learned a lot. Chessum was sort of ok. Not sure any of our backs gained much, Daly was looking good and Freeman is a three time lion starter.Oakboy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 2:40 pm Too many older and/or knackered players on parade today. All a bit underwhelming in hindsight for me.

Re: 3rd Test
The chickens come home to roost as the Lions are revealed as a pretty mediocre squad a bit short in the dog department, and lacking real pace/zip/skills in the outside backs.
But wait till you hear the media really talk them up anyway.
Monye is already on about Farrell coaching the next tour.
It's all a bit of a hoot really.

Re: 3rd Test
I guess the Lions could only play what was in front of them and despite Farrell Senior’s pre-ordained test match selection policy and that the piss poor performance against Argentina deserve credit for winning the series. In all honesty this really wasn’t a vintage (nor especially talented) Lions squad and I actually enjoyed warm ups more than tests themselves in many respects. Not enough to convince me that Farrell Senior is a Borthwick successor.Spiffy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 2:50 pm The chickens come home to roost as the Lions are revealed as a pretty mediocre squad a bit short in the dog department, and lacking real pace/zip/skills in the outside backs.

Yup. Compounded in this game with some poor selection imo.Spiffy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 02, 2025 2:50 pm The chickens come home to roost as the Lions are revealed as a pretty mediocre squad a bit short in the dog department, and lacking real pace/zip/skills in the outside backs.
