Interesting that Dombrandt is dropped to the bench and CCS moves to 8 with Petti coming in.

He’s carrying a knock. Same reason he came off early last weekend.

Quins throwing our best available side at this but I’m still expecting to lose. Saracens looking annoyingly good ATM.

*Narrative Klaxon*

Number 10 bulldozes through tighthead to score the opening try of the game.

Charlie Bracken gets brought on to watch Marcus Smith take the last kick! If Carlsberg did youth development this would not be it!

Certainly the most pointless substitution of the season so far. Hard to see how anyone is going to top it.

Well done Quins. They were the better side and deserved the win. Smith played a most unusual yet effective hand and i thought Kenningham, CCS and Baxter were excellent up front.

Willis was easily Saracens best player despite the comms team bigging up you know who.....

Agreed. I especially liked CCS at 8. IMO, he's a 6/8 and should not be messed about at lock. He's a more effective back-up at 8 to Willis than Earl is and, with both Currys injured, he must be close to the starting 6 shirt for the AIs.

Does he have the work rate for 6 at international level? Hasn't looked like it previously.

His positional versatility makes him very likely to be in the 19 shirt surely. Pepper or Underhill alongside Earl would be my guess for the flanker selections given the injuries.

You could be right but I'd pick CCS, Pollock and Willis.

I'd have Pollock on the bench as well. Something like;
Baxter, LCD, Stuart, Chessum, Itoje, Pepper, Earl, Willis to start and then pack the bench with impact: George, Genge, Heyes, CCS, Pollock. Would give us a good all round starting pack and then the option for positive impact across the replacements. If be maybe even tempted to start Heyes and then deploy Genge and Stuart from the bench at half time together. A bit Saffa style.

I don’t hate that idea. The good thing is that we’re reaching a stage where there is very little to choose between our 1st and 2nd choice front rows.

CCS still has time to figure out his best position but for now he is an excellent option for the Martin Corry role.

Delighted at today’s result. Certainly lifts a bit of the gloom around Quins.
