Potentially scary backline from Chiefs there. Bench is still a bit meh. Not that ours is much better.

Exeter played well. Adapted to the conditions and controlled things pretty much throughout.
Quins were woeful.

That's not far off a first choice Quins XV, they were abject. Don't think Marcus Smith or CCS will want Borthwick to see this game.
Exeter looked good. The two Wallabies they've brought in looked good. Has helped sort out a couple areas of need.

I’ve not managed to watch a single game this season. Beating Saracens and then losing to one of the worst teams in the league (on recent form) feels like exactly what I’ve come to expect from this group of players.

Re: Exeter vs Quins, Sunday 19 Oct, 3pm
Last time out, Quins coaches got praise for their kicking tactics. Exeter gave them a lesson in how and when to kick in this game and, in particular, when NOT to kick.
Quins, on paper - in Kenningham and Evans, had the two best ball-winning back rowers yet Exeter, Roots in particular, knocked them off the ball all game.
Exeter out-fought and out-thought the opposition.
On the back of Saracens and Sale's see-sawing form and Bath losing a game they should have won it was an odd weekend. Where does it leave any of them in terms of winning competitions? Who knows. I'd suggest that teams could well be increasingly apprehensive about facing Exeter as the season progresses.

Re: Exeter vs Quins, Sunday 19 Oct, 3pm
Should we?
We certainly could have, and had opportunities (but then, Leicester also had unconverted opportunities)
I'm not sure that Bath were the better team, either on paper or on grass - IMO there was nothing in it.
If Bath "should" beat... last year's runners up, away, on a day they're celebrating a club legend, whilst rotating... that really doesn't say good things about the league.

Maybe you are right but on the day, watching once without in-depth analysis, I thought Bath left 5% in the changing room. De Glanville on the wing was a curious selection, IMO. That was an unsuccessful rotation ploy.Which Tyler wrote: ↑Mon Oct 20, 2025 8:57 amShould we?

Re: Exeter vs Quins, Sunday 19 Oct, 3pm
I assumed that with a narrow pitch and iffy weather predictions Bath were looking for options to pin Tigers back with, try and stop Tigers pack getting into good positions. Given Bath also kicked short on a lot of their box kicks, they were clearly trying to find ways to keep Steward and his aerial abilities out the game. De Glanville was a bit unlucky with Woodward recovering from his knock in time, last weekend Tigers struggled to get the ball wide often enough. Not an issue at the weekend with Woodward and JOC interlinking and finding space to move it early.Oakboy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 20, 2025 2:54 pmMaybe you are right but on the day, watching once without in-depth analysis, I thought Bath left 5% in the changing room. I thought it was a pretty even game that ebbed and flowed. The try just before halftime did swing momentum Tigers way but the impact of the Bath bench did look to have swung it back. Bath's lack of composure late on will have been more concerning for van Graan than the result.
