While it's fair to say that the Iranian leadership would not be missed...(just like Maduro) what about if they become another oil puppet state?

I just feel like all the bickering and "playing politics" by the EU have left us being completely left behind, and we're going to suffer because of it.

It’s hard to get reliable figures but the casualty count appears to be increasing significantly. And trumps promise to support the protestors appears to have died away so the poor sods are on their own.

He and the Israelis are afraid of ballistic missiles.

Which is unusually rational for Trump.

Trump is a coward. I doubt the Israelis are that worried considering previous activities.

Equally the US might not have enough force in the region to guarantee a win so that’s likely to be an influence.

Carrier group is due to arrive Thursday-ish, isn't it?

I disagree. Netanyahu stopped the last little war with Iran because his iron dome couldn't stop buildings getting blown up in Tel Aviv. He, more than Trump, is unwilling to get into a conflict with Iran while it still has the ability to hit back.

That’s one view but Israel batter seven bells out of Iran for negligible loss, particularly with Hezbollah neutered . Iran was desperate for a cease fire and Israel was only constrained from direct action when it tried to expand into the gulf states.

I think both know that foreign intervention may backfire badly and may have come to the conclusion that a weakened Iran run by an Islamic dictator is better than complete chaos.

Negligible material loss but big political loss.
