If Galthié chooses to revert to Penaud (I don’t believe he will), he was on form at the weekend against Castres, breaking four tackles and crossing for two tries.Banquo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 16, 2026 1:19 pmOh I agree, definitely got X factor. Just don’t think he’s yet better than Penaud.francoisfou wrote: ↑Mon Feb 16, 2026 12:39 pmHe’s a talented and enthusiastic young’un in my humble opinion, with a definite Test future, and I believe that Galthié will stick with him for the rest of the 6N.

He's always been an arsehat! He has his out there beliefs just to wind people up I think. And largely dislikes anyone with any personality or flair. Because he's an absolute dog's cunt!astralweeks wrote: ↑Mon Feb 16, 2026 7:47 pm Sad to see that Stephen Jones made a miraculous return to the Sunday Times. Gave him another chance to have a rant about Pollock.
"England must make changes. They must stop playing what they think is a joker but is actually a joke. Henry Pollock made his traditional late appearance yesterday but arriving against a dreadful welsh team with the match already won is one challenge. To come on to try and save the match against a rampaging scotland is something else"
What the feck is that arsehole on . He is just unpleasant. I'm pretty sure he's there just to wind me up just like alison pearson in the torygraph

I thought this entire thing was about his incredibly lazy kick chase and France wanting to see if they can make more of their kicking/aerial game? I don’t imagine anyone is doubting what he can do ball in hand.francoisfou wrote: ↑Tue Feb 17, 2026 8:14 amIf Galthié chooses to revert to Penaud (I don’t believe he will), he was on form at the weekend against Castres, breaking four tackles and crossing for two tries.Banquo wrote: ↑Mon Feb 16, 2026 1:19 pmOh I agree, definitely got X factor. Galthie dropping Penaud, Aldritt and Fickou is a big wake up call for the French squad, basically says anyone can be dropped. All three get their work ons and go back to their clubs with a point to prove whilst new options come in and fight for a place. If he's got the balance right Galthie will be in a much stronger position going forwards.francoisfou wrote: ↑Tue Feb 17, 2026 9:14 amThreads do tend to deviate, now and again !Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Tue Feb 17, 2026 8:57 amI thought this entire thing was about his incredibly lazy kick chase and France wanting to see if they can make more of their kicking/aerial game? Wrt Ford's charged-down drop-goal - we had a penalty advantage before and played on - I think the ref called "advantage over". What is the point of playing advantage on a penalty when you can lose it?
Shouldn't the ref come back to the original pen?

The point of playing advantage is you hope to do better than you would just taking the pen. Only for a penalty close to the line does that mean you get to play risk free until you score (tbh I don't like even that, but that's another debate). Here the penalty was on about the half way line.loudnconfident wrote: ↑Wed Feb 18, 2026 5:45 pm Wrt Ford's charged-down drop-goal - we had a penalty advantage before and played on - I think the ref called "advantage over". Yup, and when was the last time you saw a team take the straight pen over playing the adv.Cameo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 20, 2026 12:50 amThe point of playing advantage is you hope to do better than you would just taking the pen. One factor in this is the loss of time because the ref does not stop the clock. A long advantage played out till play returns to the penalty takes those minutes off the 80. A side that is chasing the game a couple of scores down might well be better knocking on immediately.Danno wrote: ↑Fri Feb 20, 2026 2:52 amYup, and when was the last time you saw a team take the straight pen over playing the adv.Cameo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 20, 2026 12:50 amThe point of playing advantage is you hope to do better than you would just taking the pen.
