I haven't read anything remotely related to espionage in at least 25 years - dipped in here again and devoured this ,it's a cracking read

Are ye familiar with authors work? Anything else recommended?
Is that the book about the KGB guy who turned and was a British spy? Ben McIntyre is very very good, his books are usually excellent.
It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Got round to colson whiteheads underground railroad, it's excellent well deserved pulitzer. I could give it a second read to dwell on the moments between the terror, only criticism is for myself for reading it too quickly

Our old mucker serjeantwildgoose was a big rysuard kapuszincki fan, I struggled to read the shadow of the sun previously

I picked up the emperor anyway and it's written in a different style, and is excellent. Based on interviews of those who served in the palace before and during the fall of haile selaisse. There's a mesmeric quality to the writing and the notion of emperor is relevant again!
