Great Track, excellent vocals. Haven't heard anything from him before, recommend any albums to start with?
Heart & Soul (SSS International, 1969)
I Won't Cry (Ric, 1971)
A Christmas in New Orleans with Johnny Adams (Ace, 1975)
Stand By Me (Chelsea, 1976)
After All the Good Is Gone (Ariola, 1978)
From the Heart (Rounder, 1984)
After Dark (Rounder, 1985)
Room with a View of the Blues (Rounder, 1988)
Walking on a Tightrope (Rounder, 1989)
The Real Me: Johnny Adams Sings Doc Pomus (Rounder, 1991)
Good Morning Heartache (Rounder, 1993)
The Verdict (Rounder, 1995)
One Foot in the Blues (Rounder, 1996)

Still can't beat the classics though, can you 8-)

If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

Heard this on the radio just now and was reminded what an exciting record it is. It's got energy to burn. 50 years old and still sounding great. Those horns!

Loved this when I brought the album on its release over 40 years ago. The beautiful melody, those voices and that wonderful piano. Takes me back...

The sisters were part-Cherokee. Many years later lead singer Ronnie would have to flee from her husband, music producer Phil Spector, who was convicted of the murder of actress Lana Clarkson in 2003.

Just heard this on a tv ad for a mobile phone!

top drawer hard driving 70's soul. expertly played (that bass!!), produced and sung by one of the best vocal groups in the business.

Not sure about those suits.....

Two things , those girls in the background , have just mastered the ' dad dance ' . Can't believe the stick I get, good as I am.

Looking at that audience enjoying themselves , its obvious that the fat gene hadn't yet landed .

I think the Fast Food fad really kicked in during the 60s and probably required a decade or so to take full effect. By the 70s there were a lof of fatsoes in America, reaching epidemic proportions toward the end of that decade.

Is it American, or Kiwis putting on American accents? Reminds me of my little brother's surfy crowd (a couple of decades back, of course) - middle class youth trying really hard to be new age hippies 8-)
