He is as skinny as me nowadays.
Nothing to do with Scot v Wales but talking of skinny, check out SIMON Taylor.

Six Nations: Scotland's Josh Strauss ruled out of rest of campaign

Scotland number eight Josh Strauss has been ruled out of the rest of the Six Nations campaign through injury.

It represents a second injury blow for the Scots after captain Greig Laidlaw was also ruled out of the remainder of the championship.

Strauss, 30, suffered a kidney injury during the 22-16 defeat by France.

Strauss will now return to his club Glasgow Warriors for further care and a review of the injury will be scheduled in approximately six weeks' time.

"After completing the [French] match, he was scanned in Paris," said Scottish Rugby. "Both the scan, and the player, were reviewed back in Scotland, where the full extent of the injury was confirmed."

More to follow.
I've bruised my Kidney, it was bloody awful. worst pain I've ever had.

CDP will probably cover then

Strauss deserves a f*cking medal for that shift he put in against France. He was clearly in discomfort late on but never gave up.

Hopefully he has a speedy recovery.

VC has to take a risk. We can't go with a lightweight backrow against Wales.

Ashe or CDP shown any kind of form? Denton is getting his first start for a long time this weekend, but I can't remember when he last looked decent.

It has to be Wilson packing down at the base of the scrum regardless of the shirts on their back. We can't throw a rookie in with Price at 9.

An infection should really have cleared up by next Saturday, particularly if it was identified in the week before the French game...

But will Barclay be there?

To make things worse, Maitland went off injured.

Ironically he was only drafted in at the last minute because Taylor failed a fitness test.

Wayne Pivac said his scan went well and there's a chance he'll make the game.

Shit. Thought I saw him hobbling a bit. This is probably the most consistent he's been playing for a while.

Great news. You'd have to think he starts given he was the VC.

That does concern me a little as Watson, Wilson & Barclay lacks a ball carrier. I'd rather one of them benched with CDP or Bradbury coming in to the starting line up.

I think I'd drop Wilson and have Bradbury, Watson and Barclays starting with cdp on the bench. I'm a big Wilson fan recently but we need at least 2 carriers

Sounds like Jon Welsh has had a very good game in Falcon's thrashing of Northampton Saints. Still hoping VC will see sense and draft him onto the bench.

Yeah, I think one of Wilson's big plus point was his versatility but with Barclay there it doesn't seem as necessary. Barclay seems to be underrated as a carrier.

Wilson really is the only viable option to pack down at 8 unless you want to pair an uncapped CDP or 1 cap Bradbury with 2 cap Ali Price on a scrum that will likely be shoving us backwards on the regular.

Wilson packs down at 8 for me with a carrier on the flank - probably CDP.

I would have thought Barclay, who plays 8 basically every week, with Bradbury. To be honest it's not the call I'm most fussed about, I can live with Wilson.

I still find Bradbury a bit raw. He is very strong and runs very fast though. CDP, wasn't outstanding against Leinster, but he didn't make nearly as many mistakes.

Bar the long term injuries and Dunbar everyone has been passed fit for the weekend.

Dunbar hasn't been ruled out though. Here's hoping.

It's a bit casual how it's written but hopefully this is accurate.

"That should cheer Cotter after the disappointment of losing his influential skipper. Laidlaw suffered ankle ligament damage during an accidental clash with team-mate Alex Dunbar, who has himself shaken off a head knock suffered during the defeat in Paris."

http://sport.bt.com/rugby-union/scotlan ... 4157834166

I'd hope Scott has been training plenty though and hopefully in the 23.

Good spot. It's pretty poor writing. Plus Dunbar is in the training pics from today which is promising.

What are you lot hoping for this week? I have just seen that John Lacey is the ref and the prospect of a win seems a bit far fetched now. We should try to keep hold of the ball this week, not that their back line is particularly scary, but their pack could potentially bully us into coughing up Penalties. Also hoping for less injuries this weekend.
