Re: Australia tour
Horne to cover 10 & 15(at a push), Hoyland on the wing. Price starts IMHO. I think Du Preez needs another run, I suppose Wilson would also be in the mix.
Its going to be tough tour actually, who knows what form we'll be in.

Re: Australia tour
On the plus side, when I go to see Fiji v Scotland in Suva it will be good to see a near full-strength Scottish side.

Still, they scored as many as we did and our two big try threats are touring and the 3rd is injured.whatisthejava wrote:its nothing to be proud about repeatedly punching a crippleBig D wrote:Ireland that scored as many tries as Scotland? Even if they scored a load v Italy.whatisthejava wrote:

I think Kinghorn will start at 15 with Maitland to fill in if it doesn't go to plan. I would have much rather had Maitland and Seymour on the wings to hand-hold Kinghorn if needed. Don't trust Visser with those duties tbh.

Re: Australia tour
I reckon we might see Hastings & Dean as bolters on this as well. We're a bit light on centres with the two injuries & Horne likely travelling as 10 cover so another 10 needed. Weir not the answer.

I hope it's Kinghorn. Need to blood a full back.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:I think Kinghorn will start at 15 with Maitland to fill in if it doesn't go to plan. I would have much rather had Maitland and Seymour on the wings to hand-hold Kinghorn if needed. Don't trust Visser with those duties tbh.

I thought the Scottish back line was the most effective and most efficient in Europe this year. Made far better use of the ball it had (which sometimes wasn't much) than the other 5 nations. But anyway, Hogg and Seymour leave big holes but it will be good to see the likes of Taylor and Scott getting some game time, and the backs should remain pretty potent.Big D wrote:Still, they scored as many as we did and our two big try threats are touring and the 3rd is injured.whatisthejava wrote:its nothing to be proud about repeatedly punching a crippleBig D wrote: Ireland that scored as many tries as Scotland? They were efficient. It was great to see. But Hogg and Jones were involved in most of them. One is touring the other is injured so can't tour.Matt Ha wrote:I thought the Scottish back line was the most effective and most efficient in Europe this year. Re: Australia tour
Kinghorn is actually an interesting selection quandary.
Still eligible for the u20s, seems to be headed towards bring the back up senior 15 at some point but his form has dropped off towards the end of season.
I wonder whether we should give him the summer off. 1st full year as a pro and would maybe benefit from downtime and then getting back into preseason.

Well Fiji is the same time zone as NZ, and I'm pretty sure the National Stadium doesn't have lights of sufficient quality for TV so that will be pre-dawn for you.Chunks Baws wrote:What's the TV schedule like for this?

I would have called it hot and humid. Expect about 32C and 85/90% RHBig D wrote:Sky reporting as a midnight UK time koLizard wrote:Well Fiji is the same time zone as NZ, and I'm pretty sure the National Stadium doesn't have lights of sufficient quality for TV so that will be pre-dawn for you.Chunks Baws wrote:What's the TV schedule like for this?

Not overly familiar with that corner of the world. Tough conditions to adapt to quickly.Stones of granite wrote:I would have called it hot and humid. Fiji will be ok. It's winter there too, so high 20s/low 30s at the most. Rain is common in that part of the country too.Big D wrote:Sky reporting as a midnight UK time koLizard wrote:Well Fiji is the same time zone as NZ, and I'm pretty sure the National Stadium doesn't have lights of sufficient quality for TV so that will be pre-dawn for you.Chunks Baws wrote:What's the TV schedule like for this?

They're reporting all of Scotlands games this year at that time. Looks like the ko times aren't decided.Big D wrote:Sky reporting as a midnight UK time koLizard wrote:Well Fiji is the same time zone as NZ, and I'm pretty sure the National Stadium doesn't have lights of sufficient quality for TV so that will be pre-dawn for you.Chunks Baws wrote:What's the TV schedule like for this?

IIRC last one was a 3 or 330am KO. Probably something similar.OptimisticJock wrote:They're reporting all of Scotlands games this year at that time.
