I'd still drop him. He made life so difficult for the other 14 guys on the pitch.

I thought the way Brown stuck the nut on him at the end of the tackle was a particular touch of class. Anyway, do we drop him? I'd be tempted - to send out a message.

No you give him the chance to redeem himself against Italy. It worked for the Welsh! A lot of them will have points to prove.General Zod wrote:I thought the way Brown stuck the nut on him at the end of the tackle was a particular touch of class. Anyway, do we drop him? Or drop him and see if he can control himself when he comes off the bench after 60, bursting to prove himself?QwentyJ wrote:No you give him the chance to redeem himself against Italy. Because it's VCs last game and toony won't hold it against him I wouldn't drop him for disciplinary reasons.

Ford & Brown swap places, Scott in 23 shirt.
Did I miss any changes?

Right decision to drop Brown. If a statement is being made about Brown then I probably would have made one with Dunbar too - especially given the form Matt Scott is in at the moment.

How does Pascal Gaüzère ref the breakdown? Maybe a combination of things and they think Browns impact would be reduced at the breakdown.

I hope the bench actually get some game time.

I would imagine Brown simply hasn't been training as the starting hooker pending a possible ban, no? Anyway, I'm fine with that decision. We need to use the bench and we need to fucking hammer these bastards.

Chuffed for Scott. Glad all the concussion lads are in too.

If Wales win, we drop a place in the world rankings, irrespective of the score.
If France win, by 15 or less, they stay below us, irrespective of the score in our game.
If France win by 16 or more, they go above us, irrespective of the score in our game.
We can't get above Ireland.
Anyway, we just need to win. By 16 plus would be better.

The strange thing is that that all seems totally fair.General Zod wrote:If Wales win, we drop a place in the world rankings, irrespective of the score.

I like the team. Dont want to get ahead of ourselves with talk of a 40 point win. Id be delighted with 20 as long as we play well

Re: Scotland v Italy
For me I hope we stick to the plan and let the players play. The players & Coaches have been consistent in their belief that the approach has been correct and the results would come. That has started to bear fruit and one, perhaps aberrant, result against the strongest team in the comp shouldn't deflect them from that or force a fundamental rethink.
Stick to what we are good at, tighten up on the things we are not - basically play our game. We have often slipped up against Italy by trying to be clever or different just because it was Italy. Panic sets in, arm wrestle develops and its like the Rocky film at the end with whoever beats the count scrapes across the line.

Yeah, you're right. I just want to get over the deflation of last week and get everyone optimistic again. It's hard to remember how happy we would have been with three wins at the start of the tournament

I hope you hammer them. This has nothing to do with me having some money on both Jones and Seymour to be top try scorer.

Can Scott play IC? He's played solely at OC for Glos.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:I probably would have made one with Dunbar too - especially given the form Matt Scott is in at the moment.

Looks like RGray is out, replaced by Gilchrist.

Just saw that on twatter. Gilchrist straight in to the starting XV. I haven't watched much of Edinburgh lately, it's too painful, but I was under the impression Toolis was out performing GG.

Ah, ok. He's been on fire at Glos this year. Which is quite some achievement at that place. You've quite some depth at centre.OptimisticJock wrote:Started his career there.Mellsblue wrote:Can Scott play IC? Yeah, he's done well there but I still think he's better at 12. Will be interesting if Trinder gets back to where he was to see Scott inside at 12. Glos seem to love Billy Twelevetrees though.Mellsblue wrote:Can Scott play IC?
