Scotland v Italy
So, putting today behind us, as it never happened, assuming worst case that the injured players are out (they'd obviously start) who are we picking next week?
At the moment I'm inclined to put the same team.oit with a rocket up there arse.
Same tight 5.
Barclay, Watson, CdP
Price, Finn
Dunbar, Jones
Visser, Maitland
Kinghorn - risk but I'd rather play a full back than a winger there.
Same tight 5 subs
Denton - even less choice now.
Pyrgos
Weir
Scott
As said on the other thread fair fucks to Weir and Price, especially Weir for giving wing a go.

My main concern is that despite players dropping like flies VC has not bothered to call up any replacements. Whoever you draft in will be straight in from the cold.
I do wonder if that's related to today. Lack of players to compete for a starting berth in the training camp.

You are literally lying in bed Sunday with that disgusting fat pig from the pub, that you always make fun of, lying next to you with the foul smell of genitals still fresh on your lips..and you're thinking of who you're going to pull next weekend...?
Let it go for a few days. Shower. Get tested. We'll talk Tuesday or Wednesday. We've all been there.

I enjoyed that. Bar the use of the word 'literally'.Buggaluggs wrote:You are literally lying in bed Sunday with that disgusting fat pig from the pub, that you always make fun of, lying next to you with the foul smell of genitals still fresh on your lips..and you're thinking of who you're going to pull next weekend...?

Re: Scotland v Italy
Not because I think Dunbar deserves dropping, I think the midfield mishaps were more a case of poor defensive tactics than execution- although both weren't good, but if you're gonna blitz, you gotta get there, we didn't and the drift had no chance, but I think Matt Scott ought to bet a start. He's been playing really really well for Gloucester and I can't see not playing him.

Re: Scotland v Italy
Guys, the team had one bad game, the tactics were wrong and the guys on the pitch were lost, coaches have to take some blame for that so I can't say its fair to blame the players, they still scored more tries against the English then anyone else this 6N.
Same team for me, they need to go to Murrayfield and we need to cheer them on, they had a bad day at the office but if the favourites win and we score some good tries we can finish 2nd
Bring in Scott for Bennet on the bench
Bring on Maitland on the bench
Bring on Horne
If the guys play fast and wide against Italy we have the potential to smash them, we need to put this weekend to bed and focus on the last game and start playing again

I noticed something quite interesting about 2 of JJ trys,
Jones never turned in, he trusted Dunbar to make the tackle, when was the last time we backed out players to make 1 on 1 tackles, ok it didn't work and their shape was completely wrong but the confidence in that team to back reach other is something I haven't seen for a while,
It just didn't work in a big big big way

Any changes to the 23 IMO should only be injury enforced ones. Give them a chance to put things right.

Worked for Wales. We also have an element of not having many other options, other than in the centers weirdly.

There is definitely some merit in that except for Berghan. Edinburgh would do well to get shot of him. What he's doing in a Scotland shirt - I honestly do not have a clue. Rae or Welsh please.Big D wrote:Any changes to the 23 IMO should only be injury enforced ones. Give them a chance to put things right.

Re: Scotland v Italy
So Bennett is out for this week, and Hogg, Seymour and Wilson all have concussion.
Could be quite a change coming up

None of the concussions are likely to play then. Id bring scott onto the bench, maitland to fb and cdp to start with Harley or Bradbury on the bench. Not sure on the wing spot that leaves. Hoyland would be interesting or Hughes might come in. I wonder if Scott might start and Jones move to the wing

Can seniors not recover from concussion in 7 days.
I'd be surprised if we don't get at least 1 back.

Re: Scotland v Italy
The HIA protocol doesn't diagnose concussion only identifies symptoms which then cause a player to be withdrawn.
They then work through the process. So there's every chance 1 or more will make it.

Yup - they could all play, although of them all, I thought Wilson took the heaviest knock.
Important to win this one (obviously). We can't go back and play the England game again, so just focus on the next people at Murrayfield. A win and come the autumn, it'll be a year since we've lost there and bring on the ABs.

I thought they had actually been diagnosed as concussed now but could be wrong. Think 6 days is the minimum but I'd be a little worried if they all made it

From WR:
This HIA tool combines cognitive, balance and memory tests and is derived from the SCAT 3 recommended by the experts from the Zurich Concussion Consensus Group to assist medics in making the correct decision following a head impact.
Then goes on to say about diagnosing symptoms rather than actual concussion.
One things for sure. I trust our national doctor to get it right.

Re: Scotland v Italy
I think the process treats any symptoms as effectively concussion. You still follow the HIA process and then pass or fail each stage. So they will be treated as if they have concussion.
I might be wrong on that.
I think rightfully we are quick to get any player showing signs of concussion off.

I don't like the sound of a SCAT test.

After the Webster incident Robson doesn't take any chances.
Safe than sorry, on second viewing Itoje was damn lucky not to get a card for that as was Hughes but brown was a red
