No, you've just taken exception to a perfectly legitimate contribution to a cringe/hate thread, in response to another comment along those very lines. Your over-sensitivity is a symptom of some deeper personal issue, but that's not my problem.OptimisticJock wrote:It's the crooked feed and you've jumped on something to make a political point, one that should be made in the politics forum if you really feel it necessary. But speaking of politics, NZ media gushing over the election of a female prime minister. Did you know that about 60 countries have had female leaders, and that even Islamic Turkey actually elected one before NZ did...

I'm not actually discussing the politics of it, just saying the NZ-media's customary attention-seeking and braggart attempts to gain the moral high ground are somewhat cringeworthy given 60 or so countries have produced female leaders and even Islamic Turkey beat NZ to the punch.Which Tyler wrote:People who have to interject their personal politics into everything
Come on Kiwis, how about a Maori prime minister. Practically every country in Latin America has produced an indigenous leader already. Get with the program!

I have been assuming it was an American woman that first slapped his dirty little hand off her leg. Might have been a ladyboy in Thailand though.

American Yahoo News - & this was actually the sanest, least showbiz-related item on there. The rest mostly had to do with Weinstein and the Kardashians...Coco wrote:What exactly did you type into the google search when that picture popped up? And dont lie.rowan wrote:Ripped jeans. Esp. of the backpacker variety, travelling in close-knit pairs, staying in the cheapest hostels and wearing baggy homespun clothes, but eating in over-priced restaurants and visiting the most exclusive tourist sites, folks are usually rich anyway, or middle class at least (veganism is a privileged choice), female invariably wears the pants in the relationship, male partner (if there is one, which is not always the case) sports dreadlocks or ponytail and copious hippie bracelets, collectively talk down to one and all, aggressively defend Democrats, over-dramatize every little incident and rush to the A & E on the slightest pretext (in order to be able to recount the tale ad infinitum for the rest of their days...)Numbers wrote:Vegans - self righteous cunts, half of whom wear leather fucking shoes.

Re: The Cringe/Hate Thread
Seriously, don't you people have anything more to do than defecate, urinate and wait for any chance to make a bitchy response to something I've written? It was nothing more than a harmless caricature of several traveller couples I happen to know personally. In fact, I admire vegetarians and am pretty much down to white meat myself (chicken & fish) these days - a decision based as much on as ethics as health, but I think the vegans (I've met personally) do seem a little too obsessed with their own purity and regard themselves as morally superior. That's not the right reason to confine oneself to legumes and grains...

Good to see you found time between defecating and urinating to seize upon that comment as well...OptimisticJock wrote:People who cut down on meat for ethical reasons but are still eating meat.
Anyway, I personally see a big difference between eating other mammals and eating birds and fish. So I don't think we can say that's hypocrisy. But in a perfect world, yes, we wouldn't eat any other animals at all, and if I were Mr Perfect (as you presumably are) I'd be a proper vegetarian.
Trivia of the day: Beer and wine are not vegetarian as they are strained through fish fat.
