We've lost the ability to control the contact at the breakdown. The aussies were awesome.

They weren't. We were simply awful.

That was fire, one of the worst Welsh performances of the century. It was seriously bad.

Our defence in the first half was passive. Our attack, when we could get the ball, was pedestrian and predictable. Our skills were second rate and communication seemingly nonexistent.

It got better in the second half, but if this is our new game plan then seriously, what the fuck. Thankfully the Aussies made a fistful of errors or it would have been horrible.

The Fail are suggesting the Pro12 is to blame. Yet, our foreign based players were as bad, if not worse.

I think our coaching team has run its course.

ANd they've done a great job. Losses like this were the norm. Now they're unacceptable. We have Gats to thank for that. But I agree, we need to move on from plucky losers to something more and I don't think this coaching team can deliver it.

Our coaching team still think it's 2012. We were found out a long long time ago, plus the game has moved on significantly. Roberts at 12 typifies all that is wrong in our set up.

We were still on the bus at the start of the game... but worse was we arrived on differant buses at differant times..no cohession.

But I dont care who the coach or what tactics you have planned for attack ...if you miss 11 tackles in the 1st half ..you are most likely toast after 40 minutes.

I am not a Howley fan but players not doing their basic job and leaving gaps in the defence is not taking care of the basics..

But I also agree even with that all said if there was ever a time to.make the changes in the team this is it.. So try it without Roberts and put Williams to 15 and 1/2p to the wing, start with Davies at 10 if that is in your plan.

But be under no illusion..if we miss 11 tackles next week in the first half... things will not be much differant.

Here are my thoughts

.. Fix or remove the human revolving doors that claim to be members our defence.

.. Bench some of the underperformers whoever they are.. no giving them a chance to redeem thamselves . That has never worked in the long run imho.

.. Fix Falateau and Williams JD2 pdq.

... Get the B team up and running.

.. Stop even dreaming Howler is capable of being the future Coach... he is not at the races or the bus stop.

It doesnt take away from the fact that the defence was crap in the first half ..but ... looking at it going forwards the problem of the team defence not being ready is a continual repeating problem and is a worn out unacceptable excuse.

So is it the head coach or the defence coach that needs to be hung... that is for Gareth Davies to grasp that thorny problem before we end up in 9th position in the rankings..again.

I think it's fair to have a pop at the players for not performing. No team plan will ever include defence being optional and regardless of the system issues, too many tackles were failing to stop Aussie players getting over the gainline.

As for the attack. Single players taking the ball wont work against a good defence and excepting individual moments of good creativity, (Amos and Scott Williams) we never looked like scoring, bar perhaps the run from Cuthbert.
