I thought him one of the most pointless of so-called celebrities; I just never bought into the appeal. As the host of The Generation Game he was little more than a letch and fronting up the rest of his vomit-inducing Saturday evening schmaltz simply exposed him as a bit of a wanker.

Well, we didn't have much choice when I was a kid. I think there was only one channel in NZ when Brucie first arrived on the scene. Sometimes a good laugh, sometimes a bit rude, as I recall, but he certainly was a trailblazer ...
