Wales back 3 vs NZ

Post by UKHamlet »

I think we have a problem with our back three. Liam and HP out presents a real problem at 15 - there are a variety of options, but none of them are satisfactory. Adams is crocked, North is limping, Cuthbert is crocked, and Anscombe has bruised ribs. That in turn gives an issue on one wing and if Wonderboy is injured, we're screwed. I think the Priest needs to get a call.

My Holby City back three:

15 Priestland (although with Biggar out he may be needed at 10 in which case a reluctant place goes to McNicholl)
14 LRZ
11 Rio Dyer

You wouldn't put Anscombe at 15?

I would. Priest at 10 and Anscombe at 15. The other way around could work as both have experience at full-back but both are better, IMO, at fly-half.

Alternatively, call up Angus O'Brian who is playing very well.

Fully agree with LRZ and Dyer on the wings, which feels like the most obvious choice.

He's got bruised ribs. Otherwise yes.

If you put Priestland at 15, who would be your 10?

That's the nub of the problem. Who indeed? Davies is playing well for the Drags.

Maybe, I’d suggest that Priestland looks more assured so I’d go with him at 10 and O’Brian at 15 who is also playing very well.
