It's a bed of his own making after courting Qanon and friends since 2017, so there's still a satisfying element of poetic justice in it (just a shame they didn't pay attention to his own noncery including over Ivanka)

Nice to see it happening but let's enjoy it while it lasts, in case it doesn't. Trump's supporters have been able to hold totally contradictory ideas of him in their heads for long periods - eg his Christian supporters re his not-so-Christian lifestyle and way of thinking.

Yeah, I have no faith this will lead to anything of anything. His supporters have deified him and, just like any god, no amount of evidence will change their mind. Faith is absolute and incorruptible, which means that their reasoning and logic will change to match the predetermined end result, not vice-versa.

If all else fails, Trump moves in mysterious ways. I have already seen people excusing it as, "We already knew he wasn't a perfect man, but he is doing perfect work for our country and the lord our god, and his past isn't relevant to the good he is doing as god's instrument on earth."

I think this will peel away some of his support. There remain those who would excuse anything from Trump. But he’s lost (if only temporarily) some very influential podcasters and probably a lot of independent voters. Hopefully the democrats can capitalised on the mid term elections.
