Sucks that Jorja Miller is out with injury. Hopefully back in the mix if the ferns can beat Canada.

What do you expect from a scrum half?
If anyone can adapt and come back though, NZ can

Comm.s saying "the only time you'll hear boo.s aimed at Sophie DeGoede"
There weren't any boo.s, because the crowd can do 12+3, and know what that means in rugby - unlike the commentators, apparently.

These bloody commentators making out like Canada winning is such a huge upset, like they've not watched them (or RWC21), or seen the rankings table.

Totally deserved. No complaints here. Not exactly a surprise upset either.

Canada were excellent. They are ranked #2 and have played impressively so far so it was hardly an upset.

Hang on, we're repeatedly told, in commentary and in BBC articles, that "New Zealand have not lost a knock-out game since 1991".
Well, if that were the case, surely they would have won every tournament? They were beateni in the quarter-final by Ireland in 2014, so doesn't that count as a knock-out game?

2014 didn't have a QF stage.
Ireland did beat NZ in the 2nd match, not even the final pool match.
NZ then went on to win the Plate stage SF and F to finish 5th.
Oh, and no-one you absolutely can win every knock out game you play, whilst not winning the title - because pol stages are a thing.

Thanks for the reminder - of course there were only 12 teams in 2014, so no QF.
I was thinking "knock-out" meant QF and SF (and arguably Final), but I suppose the situation can turn a pool game into effectively a knock-out game, depending on the state of the pool.

Final definitely counts as "knock out"
And yes, a final pool match can be an effective knock out, but not an actual knock out - 2014 doesn't count though, as it was the 2nd of 3 pool weekends
