I'd still prefer to give someone like TdG or even Hendy a shot to see if they can make the step up* - but that's a personal preference thing, and I absolutely get preferring 50+ caps to a newbie.

* I think either could, with TdG a more natural fit for a game plan designed with Furbank at FB**, but both would take time to settle in.
** Yes, I know that's weird to say, given that Hendy and Furbank play for the same club, but I see Hendy (and Daly) as more a 3rd winger style of FB, whilst Furbank and TdG (and Marcus) are 2nd FH types.
Daly's still injured too though, isn't he?

I thought he was touch and go for this week?
Assuming you're right, then I retract that suggestion; and push TdG > Hendy > Arundell > Steward > Hodge > Marcus

Only times I've seen Arundell kick it's like he's borrowed OHC's 50p shaped boots.

If Daly's fit he would be a good option.

If both Northampton full backs are fit I'd choose Hendy over Furbank...

Really?! He's a liability under the high ball at Prem level - I shudder to think how badly he'd be exposed at internationals. I **love** his attacking play and the fact that he runs like he's got 7 knees, but it's too big of a weakness to pick him.

Really? Huh. I had it in my head that Arundell had a big boot on him when he was at LIrish, but it's possible my brain's inventing things. Anyone who's seen more of him this year confirm?

I feel like he can kick it pretty far but I’m not sure about accuracy.

I’ve lost all grasp of whether Marcus Smith is the best player in the world or the worst. Only thing I know for sure is it’s nowhere in the middle.

Whatever you do, don't actually watch him play rugby - you'll collapse the waveform and there'll be hells to pay!

Similar to OHC, big boot but the ball could go in any direction.

Yep - if everyone is fit, I don't pick Hendy at 15 for England don't get me wrong but I prefer him to Furbank. Again though, as ever, depends on whole back three... Roebuck and Freeman are great in the air so if they were on each wing you might feel a wee bit safer with Hendy. Nothing better than seeing Hendy hit the line in attack. There'd be some glorious tries scored (by us).

Ah, I misunderstood you! I thought your original post was "if both Northampton 15s are fit, I'd choose Hendy over Furbank for England."

Haha, re-reading what I said, and what you've said, it still doesn't sound clear. Here goes - if I had to pick for England a full back that is currently contracted to Northampton Saints, I'd pick Hendy over Furbank. Neither though would be my first choice England full back if I had a choice from all English full backs in the prem. That's better.

I must add that I am slightly hungover so I probably didn't need to write my last post above, slight brain fuzz this afternoon.

I thought the IRB had banned that on fair play grounds?
