The pass into Genge?

Not particularly inspiring fare to be honest.

Yeah, that.

It's not been great, but I think a big part of that comes down to the ref, who doesn't seem particularly able to communicate himself effectively...

I do think we need to up the game a little second half, if we really want to lay down a marker.

Chessum has been the stand-out for me.

This has been a very poor period for us. To be that ill disciplined isn’t good enough. Wales aren’t asking difficult questions, we’re just not good enough here.

We need to get the next points, ideally a try. Just deflate this growing Welsh confidence.

The one criticism I’ve consistently had of Mitchell is that he’s a terrible tackler.

It's fairly low on what you need from your 9, as long as they aren't doing a matador impersonation I'm good with it. Just be a speed bump but make sure you've got all the basics nailed.

Yeah, but a really weird game all told. No surprise it's got loose.

Marcus Smith not looking up to match speed. Half break and a pass to a Welshman then a kick out on the full.

Good wing is Freeman, smart finish.
FT 48 - 7
Don't think SB will be that happy with 2nd half.
Seemed to be coasting a bit.

I hope SB is disappointed. He should be. We should have scored another 30 points at least. It was so often functional rather than daring.

Agreed. Winning in second gear is decent enough, but when points difference may be critical, we really should have destroyed them.

Job done. We left a few scores out there and had a sub par 3rd quarter but did enough to suggest we're on the right track.

I thought Chessum was superb, Dingwall unselfish and unfussy, Freeman a right handful and Ford majestic.

There's more to come but this was overall a pretty satisfactory first outing.

Wanting more points than there are minutes is greedy IMO (obviously would have been nice)
We destroyed them, but have questions to answer on our composure - which can happen when playing against 13 men or when dominating an opponent. Start being a bit selfish, or trying too hard, assuming there's a gap when there isn't...

Hmmm. Underwhelming to an extent. Second half kind of eroded away. Bench was not a major impact. Backs bench even more so. Spencer was utter gash!

Overall decent. Forwards good. Ford good. Freeman a better winger than centre. Should have been a bigger score!

There was a bit of a lull after half time. With the game pretty much won at that point it's understandable. Conceding the try was the slap to wake us back up and get us back firing.

A nice warm up for the Calcutta Cup but next week we'll need to find another gear.

Good win for England but hard to assess that performance against an abysmal Wales who were truly awful. A bit of a training romp at times.

I know it's a bit of a hobby horse but 6:2 is about maintaining 80 minutes'intensity. Against poor opposition, it failed in that respect. Pollock for 12 minutes, for example, makes little sense. I'm not sure wnat was good to build on and what was poor to be changed. Was the result adequate?
